Any Hawaiian vacation has the potential to be spectacular. Rarely does the temperature drop below 60 degrees or rise above 90 degrees which makes the Hawaiian Islands suitable for year-round vacationing. The tropical climate creates lush greenery and the Islands are renowned for their garden-like beauty. The island of Kauia, though not as popular as the big island of Hawaii or Maui, offers beautiful atmosphere and outdoor activities. The Lawai Beach Resort is just one amenity of this island.

Features of the Lawai Beach Resort

The Lawai Beach Resort is unique in that it is made up of condominium-style rooms instead of traditional hotel rooms. It offers small, single rooms and large suites and each room has extra features such as a washer/dryer combination unit and a small kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and, in some cases, a stove. Rooms have breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and some are just steps from the ocean. Off of each master bedroom is a lanai, or roofed patio. These verandas make it possible for guests to sit outdoors enjoying the view and ocean breeze.

The gardens surrounding the Lawai Beach Resort are filled with coconut trees and orchid plants. Lawai Beach and the Pacific Ocean are conveniently located just outside the resort. Guests may snorkel in the ocean next to giant sea turtles. There are three swimming pools including an adult pool and a pool with an adjoining hot tub. The resort has a rooftop resort café which serves affordable meals in a casual dining atmosphere. A recreation center including pool tables and exercise equipment is available to guests. A tennis court on the Coral Building rooftop and an 18-hole mini-golf course are other amenities. The Lawai Beach Resort is just a 10 minute drive from the nearest shops in Koloa.

Lawai Beach Resort is unconventional in that it does not offer air conditioning. All rooms have ceiling fans and doors opening onto the lanai to allow for the ocean breeze. However, this may be a drawback to many potential guests. Other negatives include a large population of indigenous chickens and roosters, the presence of small lizards, or geckos, in rooms, and unheated pools. The resort’s quiet-time policy after 9pm might be more attractive to retirees than to teenagers, singles or young couples.
