The Hampton Inn & Suites San Juan – a personal favorite of mine. This hotel is located in fashionable Isla Verde.

There are roadside food stands at almost every corner when you are away from the cities! This is great for the taste buds, but not so good for the waist line! Still, there are a range of delicacies to offer, so make sure you stop by for a snack whilst you are driving to your San Juan Puerto Rico hotel.

Some of these places look pretty bad with their peeling paint, dilapidated buildings or just a tent on the side of the road.  But the food you get at them will be fresh and tasty. It’s my understanding the actual “building” kiosks are regulated by the Department of Health, but I doubt the roadside tents and BBQ’s are regulated by anyone! However, tons of people have eaten at these places everyday for years, I’ve eaten at many of them, and I don’t hear of people getting sick or outbreaks of anything. So why not give it a shot and just experience it!
