by James C

Denver is a city that is rich in culture. That culture is further enriched by one of the cities best attractions, the Denver Art museum. If you love art, you should read on and find out what there is to see and do at this museum.

The Denver Art Museum was founded in 1893 in a seven story building. Work recently began on a unique edition designed by architect Daniel Libeskind which will double the size of the current museum. It will also give the city a new very unique structure to appreciate. Work on the addition should be finished late in 2006. The museum hosts a large variety of collections including an extensive collection of western and regional works. Examples of work in that collection include Charles Russells " In the enemys country", Frederick Remingtons "The Cheyenne" and several works from Georgia OKeefe. In addition to the western and regional art the museum also has a large collection of Indian art, African art, Asian art, European art and Spanish art among others. The museum has something for you no matter which type of art you are most interested in.

If you have decided to visit the museum you can find it at 100 W 14th Avenue Parkway in Denver. Hours are from 10 to 5 on Tuesday and Thursday, 10 to 10 on Wednesday and Friday and 9 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Tickets are $3 , $8 and $10 for kids, seniors and adults who live in Colorado but are slightly hire for out of state residents. Colorado Springs Attractions - Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
by James C

If you are a parent, you know that kids love to go to the zoo. You have probably taken your kid to your local zoo several times. If you are traveling to Colorado Springs, why not give your child a special treat and take them to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Your child will be sure to love it. Read this article to find out why.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a moderately sized zoo containing a little over 650 different animals. It is not the largest zoo in the world but it has all of the zoo staples like lions, wolves, hippos, elephants, monkeys, giraffes and more. In addition to these zoo basics, it is also home to several endangered species such as the Siberian tiger, Black Footed ferret and the Amur Leopard. When you are there you should be sure to take your kid or kids for a ride on the antique carousel. The antique carousel was built in 1926, the same year that the zoo was founded, and is a colorful ride that has been kept in pristine condition. You are sure to enjoy it. After riding the carousel you can go for a ride on the zoos tram. The tram will take you on a 15 minute loop around the zoo and will only cost you $1 to ride. It is well worth the small cost.

The above attractions are just a few of the interesting things to do at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. There are many more things waiting for both you and your children to enjoy. For information on current admission prices and visiting hours you can call the zoos information line at 719-633-9925.
