Disney Cruises. Disney cruises are very popular for a cruise family vacation due to their excellent children’s programs and activities, as well as docking at the beautiful island Castaway Cay. Each week, the company publishes “Magical Rates” on their website, offering incredible discounts. For example, you may have the luck to find a 4-night cruise in the Bahamas for as little as $479 or a 7-night cruise in the Caribbean on Easter time at $859.
There are also special discounts for children aged 3 to 12 sharing the room with their parents, while kids under three can travel for free. An infant care service is also available for a set fee, while other children programs are free.

When most people think about Orlando Florida, the first association that they have is with Disney World. Disney World, after all, is what first put Orlando on the map. In reality, however, it is only one of several activities in Orlando. No matter what your interest ins you will be able to find something that is fun for you.
Obviously, Disney World is one of the best activities for kids to do in Orlando. There is so much there that you could spend your whole vacation and still not see all of it. There are amusement rides, towns set up along different themes, fireworks shows, parades, and many other attractions. Disney World, however, is not the only thing for children to do in Orlando. As a matter of fact, it would not be overstating the case to say that the whole city is a wonderful place for children. For example, Sea World is the greatest amusement park I have ever seen. There are killer whales, dolphins, and many other fascinating aquatic animals to watch. Many of them perform, and you can also watch the park staff at certain times feeding them.
Of course, no trip to Orlando Florida would be complete without going to Universal Studios. It is one of the best things to do in Orlando because it interests both kids and adults. Disney World is fantastic for children, but parents may find it a little bit monotonous after a while. Also, the luxurious hotel resorts in Orlando might be paradise for the parents, but sitting around in a hot tub all day may not be a child’s idea of fun. Universal Studios Florida, however, is a drawcard everyone. After all, who is fascinated by movies and Hollywood magic?
Unfortunately, in most of the guides on activities in Orlando, people tend to focus on the theme parks and neglect some of the other features that the city may have to offer. Orlando is a world-class city, and has everything a major metropolitan city has to offer. There are awe-inspiring shows, great dining, and excellent museums as well. One of the best things to do in Orlando is to see Cirque du Soleil. I went to a show last time I was in Florida, and I have to say that it was one of the high points of my trip. Seeing it on the television just does not do justice to it. You have to see it live to believe.

If you will be visiting Universal Studios Tours, and you wish to see the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, you may be in luck – if you get to the Hollywood Ticket Outlet booth early enough. Getting to see Jay Leno in person and be a part of the Tonight Show audience may be the perfect end to the perfect day!
Again, make sure that you get to the booth early. Exclusive seating is limited to a first come, first serve basis. Only two priority tickets will be made available for each person, and nobody under the age of sixteen may attend the show. These tickets go fairly fast, and once they are gone, they are gone for good.
The Hollywood Ticket Outlet Booth is located inside the Universal Studios Tours park, near the Blues Brothers stage. If you get there early enough, you could be sitting in the studio audience enjoying Jay Leno’s monolog very shortly! Your friends won’t believe you, so make sure that you get souvenirs before leaving Universal Studios, and save your ticket stub!

Universal Studios began offering tours in 1964. Today, Universal Studios still offers tours, and they still make movies – but it has also become one of the largest amusement parks in the world. In fact, Universal Studios has mixed movie making with shows and a theme park full of rides to become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.
The Studio tour is a one hour guided tour. Those on the tour ride around the studio’s 420 acres on a tram, and see many stars dressing rooms, production offices, and often famous Hollywood stars. Where else can you see a western town and a New York City street all in the same hour? The tour includes sets from Back to the Future, Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb, Jurassic Park III, and The Grinch. This is more than just your boring tour with a boring monotone tour guide! As the tour progresses, tourists encounter many disasters!
Once you’ve finished your tour of the studios, you can move on to the theme park. All of the rides have a movie oriented theme, such as Revenge of the Mummy, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, and Shrek. There is also entertainment. Waterworld is a theater presentation which features many stunts and special effects. Other shows that include terrific stage effects are Backdraft, Animal Planet Live, and Spider Man Rocks.
If all of this wasn’t enough, you can also visit the TV Audience Ticket Booth. Here you will get free tickets that will allow you to be part of the audience for television shows that are being taped during your visit. This is almost like being on TV! When you visit Universal Studios, you will have several days of fun, and you probably still won’t see everything that is offered.
Outside of Universal Studios you will find the Universal City Walk. This is Universal Studios very own Downtown. This is three blocks of stores, clubs, and restaurants for you to enjoy. There are no cars or motorized traffic allowed in this area, but there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands of pedestrians milling about enjoying all of the sights and sounds.
Universal Studio Tours is a great place to spend your vacation – or it is perfect as an add on to a Disneyland Vacation. Even if you don’t have time for the theme park, the Universal Studios Tour itself is not to be missed!

Cape Cod is the most popular destination for family traveling in New England, except perhaps for Boston. The beautiful sandy beaches are what most attracts visitors to Cape Cod. A Cape Cod family vacation is a perfect getaway for both kids and parents, offering plenty of activities for everyone. With fifteen beaches, most of them oceanfront and offering rough surf, Cape Cod is a great place to spend a both relaxing and exciting holiday.
The Beaches
The fifteen beaches are the greatest attraction in a Cape Cod family vacation. The seashore offers long and quiet strolls during the day and stargazing at night. The beautiful sandy beaches are great for beachcombing along the dune line. However, unless your kids are teenagers and very good swimmers, you should choose calm beaches for swimming. Nauset Beach provides both a beautiful landscape with a limitless horizon and relatively calm waters, where your kids can swim safe. There are many lifeguards on the beach to ensure your safety.
Marconi Beach is a great place for young swimmers. If you have toddlers, it is best to keep away from strong waves and head towards warm and calm waters such as those at Cape Cod Bay. On Cape Cod beaches, kids can go seek seashells, starfish, skate eggs, snails, and, best of all, big horseshoe crabs. Corporation Beach and Skaket Beach are other popular destinations for a Cape Cod family vacation.
Things for the Kids
Park Service offers some great kids’ programs for children between 4 and 12. Children ages four to eight will enjoy going on exciting hands-on Discovery tours. A Cape Cod family vacation is very exciting for older kids as well, who can go on canoe trips, go mountain biking or listen to pirate tales around sunset campfires.
Things to Do Outside the Beach
In case you get bored of the beach during your Cape Cod family vacation, the place offers other exciting activities outside the beach as well. If you are a bike enthusiast, you can benefit from the 25 – mile path ranging from South Dennis to Wellfleet through marshes and groves. You and your kids will also love exploring the amazing creatures at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary during your Cape Cod family vacation. Popular activities include listening to lessons on bugs, nature stories and hiking.
A Cape Cod family vacation has something to offer to both kids and parents. Children of all ages will enjoy the exciting activities and kids’ programs and parents can relax admiring the beautiful setting and splendid sunsets.

As with all theme parks, there is a good time and a bad time to visit the Universal Studios Tours theme park. You should strive to visit at a time when the park is less crowded to get the most out of the tour and the park.
Weekends and school holidays should be avoided. Most of the visitors at these times are local people who live in the area, and it becomes very crowded, with very long lines. The park is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, so don’t plan a visit during those times.
Visit the Universal Studios website to find out which movies are in production, or which movies will be in production at the time of your visit. This may play in the decision as to when to visit. If you visit during the time of a movie production, you are likely to see the movie set, and you may even get the opportunity to see the stars in action!
When you do visit, plan to arrive well before the gates open. You should arrive at least thirty minutes in advance. You should buy your tickets in advance for added convenience. This can be done through a travel agent, over the phone, or online. Tickets can even be printed out using your printer.

Universal Studios strives to ensure that everyone who visits Universal Studio Tours has an enjoyable experience. While guest services are available for everyone, there are special guest services available for guests with more specialized needs.
Guests in wheelchairs should have no problem accessing everything in the park, however, occasionally, some assistance may be required. If this occurs, staff members will be only too happy to assist. If special assistance is needed, please visit the Guest Relations desk, which is near the front entrance of the park. You can also contact Guest Relations in advance of your visit. Accessibility points for wheelchairs are marked with the International signs.
If you require a sign language interpreting service, one will be made available to you at Universal Studios Tours free of charge, with two weeks notice. Arrangements can also be made for closed captioning, assistive listening devices, and telecommunication devices for the deaf. TTY telephones are located at the Guest Services booth as well, and all pay phones throughout the park have the amplified feature.
Service animals are always welcome at Universal Studios, and will be allowed in the restaurants, gift shops, and the attraction queues. For the safety and well-being of the animal, service animals will not be allowed on some of the rides or inside some of the attractions. Special arrangements can be made for the service animal while it’s owner enjoys the attractions, however. Non-service animals must be placed in the complimentary kennel, located right outside the park gates.
Pregnant women should avoid The Studio Tour, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park. These are not suitable for expectant mothers, and may cause complications in the pregnancy, including early labor. Furthermore, pregnant women will be given special stationary seating for the Shrek 4-D attraction and the Terminator 2: 3D attraction. Speak with a cast member for assistance. You should speak with your doctor before planning a trip to Universal Studios Tours – he or she may advise against such a trip.
Spanish language tours are available every day that the park is open, and tours for other languages can be arranged with advance notice. Again, Universal Studios Tours wants everyone to have a pleasant experience at the park, and they will do everything possible to ensure this. If you have a special need, please call and speak with a cast member at the Guest Services Center, or visit the center upon your arrival to the park.

A family vacation is a great opportunity to unwind after a lot of hard work or school. Your children will love to go on an adventure trip for the summer and you will enjoy spending some quality time with your family in a beautiful setting. However, with the increasing cost of airfares and lodging, many people feel they can no longer afford to go on vacation. The good news is that with a bit of extra effort, you can plan a budget family vacation that everyone will enjoy. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Start planning in advance. If you start your search in advance, you have a better chance to find a special offer that provides you with a budget family vacation package to a dream location. In addition, planning is a fun activity to share with the whole family.
Choose a non-peak period. A vacation in a non-peak period can be a lot less expensive than during peak periods. Travel agents have special offers in May and September. It is much easier to plan a budget family vacation during these two months.
Be flexible about the location. Some airlines run special promotions for certain vacation spots. Although they don’t fly anywhere, if you happen to enjoy one of their vacation destinations, you will get cheaper airplane tickets for your budget family vacation.
Choose something close to your home. Another great tip for a budget family vacation is to find an attractive location within 300 miles from your home. This way you will be able to go there by car and reduce your travel expenses.
Choose a vacation rental. Research has shown that the average holidaymaker spends more on food than on accommodation during a family vacation. If you find a vacation rental with a kitchen, you can cook some of your own meals. This way you will spend less money on dining out.
Take your friends along. Another idea for a budget family vacation is traveling with your friends. In addition to sharing the accommodation costs, traveling in a larger group has plenty of other advantages. Everything is more entertaining when friends come along and your kids can also play together. You can take turns babysitting so you can enjoy a romantic dinner in a fine restaurant.
Go camping. Many kids would love going camping because it’s fun and exciting, and they also have the chance to make friends with other kids. Camping is the most affordable option for a family vacation. The cost for a family with four members is less than $1000, including buying new gear. Campsites are usually located in wonderful settings and include plenty of planned activities and bathroom and shower facilities. Some even provide wireless Internet access and cable TV. If you love outdoor adventures, going camping is a great option for a budget family vacation.
A budget family vacation can sometimes be more fun and exciting than an expensive one. If you put some effort into the planning process, you can have a perfect vacation with your loved ones and share some unforgettable life experiences.

Unlike Disneyland, Universal Studio Tours are not for everyone. While there is plenty to do and see, the attractions are not appropriate for all ages. This should be strongly considered if you are planning a family vacation that includes Universal Studios.
There are no attractions that are suitable for babies or toddlers at Universal Studios. Most babies and toddlers will not be interested in the Universal Studios Tour. Furthermore, getting a stroller around the upper and lower lots is almost impossible. Universal Studios is a great place to have some fun – unless you are a baby, a toddler, or a parent of a baby or toddler.
If you will be taking your vacation with a toddler or a baby, you may be better off saving the Universal Studios Tour for another vacation – a few years down the road. There is no charge for admission for babies and toddlers at Universal Studios, but there usually isn’t if the person cannot enjoy the attractions at the park! Remember – the baby or toddler isn’t the only one who won’t be having any fun.
